In Zarasai, the mayor of Zarasai district municipality Nikolajus Gusevas and the deputy mayor Rimantas Jurevičius had a meeting with the businessman Aurimas Bagdanavičius, who is renowned district wise and country wise.
Mayor Nikolajus Gusevas welcomed the fact that every business being developed in this region serves as a significant and indispensable contribution to the growth and strengthening of Zarasai region. The companies operating here act as business ambassadors of our region both at the national and international level.
Very recently Zarasai has received good news. The company UAB EKKO LT operating in Zarasai participated in the competition “Lithuanian Product of the Year”. The main goal of this competition is to increase the competitiveness of high-quality Lithuanian products, to present and consolidate the position of the country’s industrial products, goods and services among local or international consumers, encouraging them to choose high-quality Lithuanian products, thereby contributing to the development of Lithuanian business. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. At this competition the organic rapeseed oil was recognized as the best product of 2021. Minister Aušrinė Armonaitė and President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists Vidmantas Janulevičius presented the Gold Medal to Aurimas Bagdanavičius, the head of UAB EKKO LT.
The rapeseed production company, which was awarded the Gold Medal, is located in Raudondvaris, Zarasai eldership. The company focuses on a continuous and reliable supply of production and produces organic products, which have an official certification. The company produces all of its products only from rapeseed grown in Lithuanian fields.
UAB EKKO LT adheres to a Zero Waste policy, i.e. none of our raw material is wasted or thrown away. Our advanced production facilities allow us to process organically grown and cold-pressed rapeseed into four premium-quality consumer-ready products, which retain all the nutritional benefits of rapeseed. The production process ensures that everything is done without any harm to nature. The company adheres to the strict standards during the selection of raw materials and further production, which enables us to offer consumers the premium quality organic product. The company uses only local raw material – the finest quality rapeseed grown in Lithuanian organic farms under constant supervision.
Over 70 percent of the company’s production is exported to foreign markets. Production from Zarasai travels predominantly to Scandinavia, also to other European countries, and even reaches Asian countries.
Mayor Nikolajus Gusevas commended the company’s CEO Aurimas Bagdanavičius for efficient business solutions, popularization of Zarasai region and was glad that the Zarasai rapeseed oil was recognized as the winner of the country’s annual Lithuanian Product of the Year competition. Mayor Nikolajus Gusev, Deputy Mayor Rimantas Jurevičius along with Aurimas Bagdanavičius discussed the company’s performance and visions for its future. Mayor Nikolajus Gusev presented Aurimas Bagdanavičius, the head of the company, with a letter of appreciation from Zarasai district municipality.
